To vacate your apartment, you must provide written notice one calendar month in advance.
For example, if you intend to move out on May 31st, you must submit your notice by the last day of April. You can print the lease termination from here.
Your security deposit will be refunded once the apartment has been inspected, found to be clean and undamaged, and all rent has been paid.
The apartment must be thoroughly cleaned upon moving out.
Remember to file a change of address notification for your new address and cancel your apartment’s electricity contract.
Start cleaning well in advance of your move. Do a throughout pre-move cleaning, including deep cleaning the bathroom and kitchen cabinets. This will make the final cleaning on move-out day easier. The apartment is expected
to be cleaned to a standard suitable for the next tenant.
Cleaning checklist:
- Vacuum and mop all floors thoroughly
- Clean all cabinet doors and shelves, removing any visible dirt
- Wipe down door and wall surfaces with a damp cloth
- Clean all ventilaton vents
- Wash all windows on the inside, and outside if necessary
Bathroom ja WC
- Clean the drains in the bathroom, sauna and WC
- Clean the toilet and sink
- Wash the floors and walls, paying attention to tile seam
- Wash the sauna benches
Kitchen
- Clean the stovetop and oven, including the back and front of the stove. Remember the stove knobs!
- Clean the kitchen hood and filter
- Defrost and clean the refrigerator, vacuum and clean the back.
- Clean the trash bins
Storage and other spaces
- Empty the storage room of all belongings
- Sweep storage rooms floor
- Clean up the yard/balcony
After removing light fixtures, make sure to replace the ceiling outlets. If any ceiling outlets (or “sugar cubes”) are missing, you will be charged 60€ per piece.
If you are leaving the smoke detector in the apartment, remove the battery from the detector.
Cap the water inlet and outlet pipes of the dishwater and washing machine to prevent water damage. Remove all belongings from the apartment or storage.
Take old furniture and appliances to a recycling center or landfill. Do NOT leave them in the waste shed.
If any of the above-mentioned actions are neglected, we have the right to charge you for them. We will also charge you for any damage or mess that goes beyond normal wear and tear during your occupancy, such as graffiti on walls, yellowing caused by cigarette smoke and damage caused by pets.
